MacGyver episode 19 spoilers: Aly Michalka, Survivor alum to guest star

On Monday, CBS finally revealed the first details about MacGyver episode 19, and there are a couple of interesting tidbits. First, you’re getting an appearance from Aly Michalka of Hellcats and iZombie fame. Then, you’re also going to have an opportunity to see former Survivor: One World contestant Bill Posley appear as a guest star! There’s an odd tangential connection between this season of the CBS reality show and Posley’s — Brad Culpepper, who is taking part in Survivor: Game Changers, is the husband of former One World contestant Monica. The more you know (though granted, if you’re a Survivor fan, you probably knew that already).

So what story is this episode (entitled “Compass”) going to throw these two into? We’ve got some further details about that below!

MacGyver episode 19 synopsis – “Mac and Jack help Mac’s close friend from M.I.T.(Aly Michalka) after she fakes her own death to prevent someone from killing her in order to suppress her scientific research.”

First and foremost, isn’t it nice to know that Mac has a friend outside of the team? We’re not trying to roast the guy here, but remember for a minute how much time it probably takes to develop various little tech innovations. It’s not easy to imagine this guy taking time off from learning how to make homemade explosives in order to socialize at college parties. Somehow, he must have found a way. We do also of course wonder if there were ever any romantic sparks there, especially given how little we’ve seen of Nikki since the midway point of the season. Given that Tracy Spiridakos has a new gig over on Chicago PD, all of a sudden her schedule’s a little bit more packed!

In general, we figure that the final episodes are going to in one way or another bring about some larger mythology. It’s certainly possible that Michalka’s character at least could be added to the recurring arsenal, and be one of those characters a la the Coltons or Murdoc who can be brought back on numerous occasions to the delight of many viewers out there.

Oh, and we should mention that MacGyver episode 19 is airing on Friday, March 31. You do have a little bit of time to wait until you get around to it.
