Will Elise return to The Blacklist season 4?
Now, we’re getting the sense that the two may still have a future even still. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Jon Bokenkamp details why he likes the idea of these two characters continuing to be a part of the same universe:
“That story is not finished being told … There is still, obviously, hope for Aram and Samar, but, at the same time, we love Elise. She’s fantastic and I think she just brings a different, unexpected sassiness to Aram’s life. She’s probably the least likely person for him to be interested in and he feels incredibly betrayed and, yet, she throws a wonderful wrench in the dynamic between Aram and Samar.”
Personally, we’re fine with getting more Elise on the show just because the idea of the two trying to work some relationship out, even if it’s a friendship down the line, has such an interesting parallel between the relationship between Red and Liz and also Tom and Liz. They are relationships that should be defined by major trust issues, and yet there have been ways to work them out so that they are to a certain degree functional in the end. We’ll of course keep rooting for Aram and Samar in the future, mostly because that’s the relationship on The Blacklist we’re the most invested in when it comes to the Aram character. A little bit of drama never hurt, though, when getting from point A to point B.
Hopefully, this answers the question of “will Elise return to The Blacklist” — now, we just have to wait for the show to come back in April.
