‘NCIS’ season 14, episode 16 preview: Will Bishop kill for revenge?

Bishop -

Tuesday night’s new episode of “NCIS” is entitled “A Many Splendored Thing,” but life doesn’t look altogether splendid for some of the show’s characters in particular … including a certain Ellie Bishop. This could be her most dangerous episode to date on the show, largely because of the fact that she is putting her own life in jeopardy in order to get revenge on the death of her boyfriend Qasim.

Based on the preview below, it appears as though Bishop’s completely abandoned most of Gibbs’ teachings for the purpose of revenge. Reeves will allow her a chance to dig a little deeper into the Chen case, leading to a point where she confronts him and makes it clear that this would be a kill for “pleasure” as opposed to one for business. If we were Reeves, we’d certainly be a tad more worried about this than he is, all things considered. Bishop is not someone in the best state imaginable at the moment, which is probably why Gibbs didn’t want her working on the case in the first place. If she kills Chen, that’s not something that she can walk back easily.

Basically, what we’re trying to say here is that this could be one of the most important episodes of the season for the character. We know that this is a show known for having its fair share of lighthearted moments, but there doesn’t seem like there will be all that many at around the end of this episode. This episode could resolve everything that happened in “Willoughby,” or it could up the drama and push it down the road. “NCIS” is not a show that tends to do any one thing in particular, so it’s rather hard to known in a given moment just what the writers are going to decide to do.

One thing that we certainly say for certain? This is the most dangerous version of Emily Wickersham’s character we’ve seen to date.
