Kristen Stewart drops f-word on ‘Saturday Night Live’ — will it actually keep her from hosting again?

SNL -Tonight, “Saturday Night Live” certainly got a little bit more spontaneous than usual, and it was all due to one thing: Kristen Stewart announcing that there was a “great f—ing show” coming up at the end of her monologue. This is the sort of thing that will probably tick off some censors, NBC, and the producers of the show given that it’s never the sort of thing that they tend to heavily discourage. After all, they tend to get docked financially for it.

Now that we’ve said that, the question that you have to wonder is whether or not Stewart’s candid comment was really true about whether or not this would actually keep her from getting banned from doing the show again. Obviously, it’s not something that Lorne Michaels loves, but we don’t necessarily think that this is the case anymore. The biggest thing to remember is that this is 2017. This is an era where almost nothing is sacred anymore, and when you consider some of the crazy stuff we’ve seen on the show over the years, the f-word doesn’t really seem like much of anything.

Ultimately, a return appearance for Stewart is going to be based almost entirely on how entertaining a host she is, and based on the first part of the episode, she does have some skill when it comes to pre-taped sketches in particular. She’s also got a huge fan base, so there is certainly some merit in bringing her back on the basis of that. Remember that the show does always tend to be better once a host gets a show under their belt and can dive into things even more with the cast.

Next week, we know that the show will be bringing back someone who’s hosted more than anyone — Alec Baldwin, though most of his appearances at this point are overshadowed by his impression of Donald Trump and his reaction to them.
