‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 8, episode 12 preview: The quest to save Paul Wesley’s Stefan

TVD -With there only being a handful of episodes left to go on “The Vampire Diaries” before the series finale comes on the air, we certainly do think that we’re now at a time in which getting closure is important for so many of the characters.

For Stefan, though, such closure may not even be possible unless Damon and the other characters can find a way to pull him out of his violent ripper stage before it’s too late. Part of the problem that comes along with that, though, is that Cade is back around, and he’s not exactly a great influence. Stefan becomes rather demonic in this state, and he’s now got an actual devil around to tell him some of the ways in which he can get himself in trouble. We’re not exactly sure how his presence is going to make for a good time for anyone.

Synopsis – “In order to save Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) soul, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) makes a deal with Cade (guest star Wolé Parks) to retrieve the Maxwell journal. Alaric (Matt Davis) and Matt (Zach Roerig) refuse to hand the journal over as it may contain the key to destroying Cade. Caroline (Candice King) desperately tries to connect with Stefan before Cade goes through with his plan.”

The one reason to have hope for Stefan as we do inch ever closer to the finale is because there are clearly so many people around him who are all still offering up their support. Caroline in particular loves him, and before she can even start to think about that June wedding, she’s got to find a way to get the man that she loves back. The people who we think are going to be in the biggest predicament are Alaric and Matt, given that they have to figure out what’s more important — one life in Stefan’s, or everyone who could be subjected to Cade and his reign of terror.
