‘Bones’ season 12, episode 6 preview: A lumberjack convention; Zack Addy returns

Bones -Tonight, “Bones” season 12 brought us an episode that featured the murder of a tutor — something that on paper will probably seem less complicated than it ended up becoming. More then the case of the week this episode was full of humor! Normally we get a laugh at least once an episode, but this one had it all from Hodgins releasing an army of spiders in Cam’s office to kids stealing a street sign named “Boner Street”. The one moment we can’t stop laughing at was Brennan trying to be the narrator of her own audio book (we will be likely spending the rest of our night You-tubing that clip to watch on repeat).

As for what is coming up beyond this, we direct you to next week’s new episode “The Flaw in the Saw,” which by all estimations is an excellent title for an hour of TV. It’s not often that you see “lumberjack” and “convention” mentioned in the same sentence, and it almost makes us wonder whether or not we could be seeing Dexter Morgan show up in a cameo appearance. (Okay, probably not, but it would make sense since “Bones” does deal with murders).

Also, this is an episode that is going to be continuing the story of Zack Addy, as well; as a matter of fact, it could alter the course of his life.

Synopsis – “The dismembered body of successful golfer-turned-lumberjack Phyllis Paul brings the squints to the Lumber Sports Regional Championships. At this competition, Booth and Brennan discover numerous secrets that could have resulted in Phyllis’ murder, including an affair with a married rival. Meanwhile, Hodgins secretly analyzes the bacteria on the bone of a prior victim that he believes will exonerate the murderer, Zack Addy (guest star Eric Millegan).”

We love that the show is giving us multiple chances to explore the Zack character and his past this season; it would have been easy to just give him a one-off at the start of the season, but this is a great chance to tie up some loose ends that have been left out there since the very first season of the show. Also, it should offer up some great opportunities to see how some of our core characters react to whatever preconceived notions that they had about his case.
