‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 4, episode 10 preview: ‘The Patriot,’ a.k.a. Mace’s story
Who is Jeffrey Mace on Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD“? Through the entirety of the fourth season so far, we have had some opportunities to get to know him. Yet, at the same time, there still could be a few more details that we didn’t quite know before now.
We have a feeling that next week’s new episode of the series is entitled “The Patriot” for a reason, and if we were to estimate in advance, we’d say that this may just be the most important episode for Jason O’Mara on the show to date. There will be some big reveals ahead, and for the billionth time since the start of the series, the organization could be thrown into chaos as a result.
Synopsis – “Separated from their team, Coulson and Mack discover a shocking secret about Mace, leaving all of S.H.I.E.L.D. in a precarious position.”
So how is Aida going to factor into this, given that she was such a huge component of the winter premiere Tuesday night? In reading this synopsis alone, this is not something that is altogether clear. What we do know is that the structure of heroes / villains is a little bit different than what we thought it was going to be entering the episode tonight. Who would’ve thought that Radcliffe was actually orchestrating everything? We had thought that this was Aida trying to reenact “Westworld” when she really seems to be in lockstep with her creator.
Promo – What’s in Mace’s suitcase? One way or another, this seems to be tied to the big secret that he’s hiding….
Aside from that, this promo does a tremendous job of setting up more of the drama that will be happening at Radcliffe’s evil lair, given that he has his new incarnation of Aida trill wrecking havoc, and that includes apparently on the real May. Is she trying to escape? Judging from what we saw, that appears to be a possibility. It’s too bad that we don’t imagine this working well for her. At the moment, our main curiosity is what his ultimate plan is for her. Time will tell there.
