TV Quick Hits: ‘Powerless’ trailer; Jimmy Fallon talks Golden Globes, Greta Van Susteren’s new gig

What is this? A second edition of TV Quick Hits in two days? Stop the madness! We’re pretty thrilled to have for you now another compilation of some of the top stories coming out now, beginning with all things Golden Globes.

In the video below from earlier today, you can see show host Jimmy Fallon hit up “The Today Show” in hopes of discussing further what some of his plans are in terms of the awards show. He’s not planning on being incredibly harsh a la a previous Globes host in Ricky Gervais, though at the same time he also does plan on bringing some biting jokes and not holding back upon occasion.

As for sketches and games, don’t expect too many of them — Fallon realizes that the idea of this particular show is to do a big opening, but from then on out it’s mostly just about ushering things along and getting from point A over to point B.

New “Powerless” trailer – On February 2 following “Superstore,” we’re going to have the premiere of the comedy we’re probably more excited for this year than almost any other: “Powerless.” It’s set in the world of DC Comics, but it revolves around insurance adjustment officers with Wayne Security trying to figure out a way to be accustomed to life in a dangerous superhero world. With a cast that includes Ron Funches (our favorite comedian working) and Danny Pudi, there’s a lot to like here!

Greta Van Susteren joins MSNBC – First, it was Megyn Kelly joining the NBC News family; now, another Fox News personality is joining the fold. Former host Susteren has signed on to host “For the Record with Great,” a new show on MSNBC that will air starting Monday at 6:00 p.m. Eastern. This is a chance for her to have another platform for her voice, and we wonder just what that said voice will sound like in the aftermath of Roger Ailes and everything that went on over at Fox. This was not the friendliest of departures, to say the least.
