‘Gotham’ season 3 photo: What has Oswald so upset?

Ghosts -Unfortunately, there is not a surprise Christmas or Hanukkah gift coming your way today in the form of a new episode of “Gotham” airing earlier than expected. However, we still can present to you now something that we personally find to be rather interesting: One of the first photos from the upcoming January 16 episode!

This installment is entitled “Ghosts,” and that alone should make you nervous — of course, to go along with all of the super-creepy promotional material that is already out there teasing the possible return of Jerome. Given that we clearly saw the character die, it’s not all that crazy to think that the only way in which he could still be out there is as a ghost — though then again, weirder things have transpired with this show.

What we have above that is so of note is one of the creepier photos that we’ve had a chance to feast our own eyes on, and it is one that features none other than Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) front and center. What is he so afraid of? We don’t think that it has so much to do with Jerome in this instance. If you remember back to the end of the first part of the season, one of the things that was such a key subject of conversation was what he did to Nygma’s girlfriend Isabella. Barbara convinced Ed to team up with her, and they’d take Oswald down together provided that in return, they could rule the criminal underworld moving forward.

Seems like a good deal, no? Well, we figure that at some point we’re going to see a thing or two happen that starts to take this said deal a little bit off the rails, but it may not happen just yet. For the time being, they may be doing a good job executing whatever plans that they have for the Penguin — which, for the time being, is our prevailing theory for why Oswald has this reaction. We’ll see if that holds true when this episode airs.
