‘The Flash’ season 3: Teddy Sears on possible Zoom / Black Flash return

Black Flash -

Last season’s Zoom storyline with “The Flash” was by far the darkest timeline we’ve seen for the show to date, given that this was a villain who was truly terrifying, and seemed to really relish the opportunity to torture Barry Allen. He took away his father, and wanted to essentially turn our hero into a version of himself.

As is often the case with many of these superhero stories, this didn’t happen, and eventually what we saw instead was Zoom undergoing his own transformation into Black Flash when the Time Wraiths dragged him back into the Speed Force. This is a different character within the DC Comics lore, one who is known as a sort of Grim Reaper for speedsters. He’s certainly terrifying in his own way, as the photo above indicates.

Unfortunately, the problem with bringing him back now is largely a function of finding the right time, given that Teddy Sears (who plays the character) has another job on “24: Legacy.” This is something that he points out in a new interview with TV Guide, while making it clear at the same time that this is something he’d be interested in doing if he’s allowed:

“It would be a lot of fun to drop back into that world. We’ll just have to see if the guys on the other end feel the same way. It sounds like they do, but it’s funny – now I belong to Fox, so there’s lots of people that would have to give a thumbs up. But I really hope so.”

So long as the schedules weren’t overlapping, we have a hard time thinking that it would be an issue given that Sears showing up on “The Flash” is only more publicity for his role elsewhere, and they should in theory want to give him as much press as humanly possible.
