‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 10, episode 12 preview: About Sheldon, Amy’s trip to Texas

Holiday -We had head before now that the upcoming January 5 episode of “The Big Bang Theory” was going to offer up a chance for us to learn a little bit more about how Howard and Bernadette are coping with having Baby Halley Wolowitz in their lives; using flashbacks, we’ll understand just how difficult their adjustment was, but also how regarding they are ultimately finding becoming parents for the first time.

One other thing that we are going to be seeing in this episode is something we did not expect: A trip to Sheldon Cooper’s home state of Texas, and the return of Laurie Metcalf as Sheldon’s mom to boot. Today, CBS released the official synopsis for the upcoming episode entitled “The Holiday Summation” — it may be short, but the information provided is of value:

“Sheldon and Amy visit Leonard and Penny for the first time since the holidays and share details about their terrible trip to Texas.”

We’ve also got for you the photo above from the episode, and the look on Metcalf’s face really says it all about what may be going on here. While Mary Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler may not have a whole lot in common, at the same time you can say that they may still have the most important thing of all in common: A love for Sheldon. They do want him to be happy, and we have to think that with that in mind, they’re going to be able to put aside whatever differences that they do have — hopefully. Even if there’s conflict, it’ll probably be of a funny variety.

More than anything else, one of the interesting appeals of this episode is that it’s almost going to be a Christmas episode in reverse, given that we usually have stories themed around the holidays before the hiatus. With the timing of Bernadette’s baby, though, it didn’t make sense for the show to do that this time around.
