Golden Globes 2017: Where to live stream nomination announcement

Globes -

Starting at 5:15 a.m. Pacific time (yes, it really is that early), the 2017 Golden Globes nominations are being announced. It’s a terrible hour that needs to be changed, though we’re sure that there are some people out there who don’t mind it after they get a nomination.

So where can you watch all of this play out? Think in terms of the award show’s official site, put on of course by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Our suggestion is that you head over here to watch the entire announcement, and then you come back here to read a little bit more of our take on many of the individual nominees — including who was snubbed on the night, and who ended up being chosen as a little bit of a surprise.

At the moment, we would say that some of the favorites to receive nominations within the TV world include the likes of “This Is Us” and “Westworld,” while established shows like “Game of Thrones” should dominate. Our hope is to see shows like “Outlander” and “Atlanta” in there somewhere, but there are no guarantees. The HFPA tend to be really difficult to predict, and they often balk at what some expectations are for them going into a show. That does make them at times exciting, since they tend to recognize shows that often are ignored by some of the other major shows out there.

One thing that we do know is that this award show does tend to be a little more lighthearted and entertaining than some of the others, which does tend to happen when you’ve got a looser environment with a bar in the room. This ceremony is going to air on NBC Sunday, January 8.
