‘The Walking Dead’ season 7, episode 9 video: Norman Reedus’ Daryl and a King Ezekiel tease

Walking DeadTonight, “The Walking Dead” aired its midseason finale, but on “Talking Dead” after it, what we really saw more than anything else was the show show really making you wait for the longest time possible in order to learn a little bit more about what would be coming up.

In the quick preview, we saw something that has actually been a little bit of a rarity on the show as of late, and that is the majority of the cast all in one place! Daryl passes along some intel to Rick and the rest of the group about the state of things at the Sanctuary, and how all is not exactly as it seems on the surface. From here, Jesus passes along some interesting advice: It may be time for everyone to meet King Ezekiel! If this scene happens within the first few episodes of the back half of the season, we’ll definitely be a happy man.

Ultimately, the most important part of this scene was what it represented more so than any particular moment within it, and that was an opportunity to see everyone within all of the communities potentially come together for a fight against the Saviors. Obviously, at present we haven’t seen the Oceanside gang mentioned ever since Tara returned from there, but we do wonder if they could be brought in eventually — even if they want to remain a secret. We could be gearing up for war, and the idea of that sounds tremendously exciting; we just don’t think it will be easy, and we absolutely think that there will be some people who don’t make it to the end of the season.

For those who missed the announcement, the series will be returning come Sunday, February 12, and in true show fashion, it will air for eight consecutive weeks. Hopefully, we’ll get some other insight on the show and its future soon enough.
