‘Supernatural’ season 12, episode 8 preview: On Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and the chase in ‘Lotus’

Supernatural -

Tonight, “Supernatural” is bringing back Rick Springfield’s version of Lucifer, and for an episode that we absolutely like there was a lot of this that we found to be incredibly entertaining.

So where are we going now moving into the winter finale next week? Well, first and foremost we’ve got an episode entitled “Lotus,” which we assume probably translates to mean “Lucifer of the United States” given where he’s going, what he’s doing, and the impact that he’s probably going to have as a result. We firmly expect this episode to be a hoot, but also one that is fairly dangerous given that the last thing you want is Lucifer having enough power to effectively control much of the surrounding world. If you thought him controlling a rock god was bad…

Synopsis – “Lucifer’s search for power and influence in a vessel lands him in the White House. The President of The United States (guest star David Chisum) unknowingly makes a deal with the devil, leading Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles), Castiel (Misha Collins), Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard) and Rowena (guest star Ruth Connell) to band together to fight the Dark Lord.”

Sometimes, it can be hard to get all of the various characters to work together, and in that sense, you can consider Lucifer’s presence a great thing for them! If they all work together, who knows? Maybe down the road they’ll build a relationship that can be useful in other battles … though we doubt it. We actually feel like this was situational more so than something that will become a pattern, especially for Crowley. Therefore, if you are one of those people that does enjoy the fun that comes with the teamwork between the various characters, the one bit of advice we have for you is simple: Don’t expect this to last long. Enjoy the ride, and the hilarity that’ll probably come with it.

Promo – This doesn’t give too much more away, but it does remind us that there’s a grenade launcher out to play! Isn’t that enough to get you excited?
