‘Chicago PD’ season 4 spoilers: What comes next for Burgess after big change?
After spending the past three seasons on the streets, Kim Burgess had an opportunity to make a key change on “Chicago PD” in its winter finale: Getting to join the team over at Intelligence. She doesn’t have the same dangers, but there are others; also, there is a different procedure and a way of doing things that she will have to figure out.
As it turns out, she is going to have someone operating in the role of teacher, and this could prove rather interesting depending on who the teacher is. While Sophia Bush didn’t give anything away, she did pass along the following message in a new piece over at TV Guide:
“She will have to start at the bottom … She’s being supervised by somebody who will certainly be able to make sure she’s learning how to be a part of our unit in the right way.”
Could this mentor be Ruzek? We’d definitely be down for it just from the vantage point of drama, and putting these two characters back in a place where they can talk about their lives, what’s happened between the two of them, and whether or not there is a decent way for them to get back to the place that they were once in. After all, one thing to remember here is that Ruzek may not understand still what went wrong in their relationship, and there is some room for growth if he figures that out. With that being said, we don’t see any need for the show to rush things along given that the show’s done a tremendous job of showcasing a different side of Burgess single so far this season.
