‘Madam Secretary’ season 3, episode 8 video: The post-election plans

Madam Secretary -On Sunday night’s new episode of “Madam Secretary” on CBS, we are going to be seeing the end results of the long-awaited Presidential election. This is a story that was really exciting to us at the start of the season, especially given the fascinating way in which it was framed with President Dalton becoming an independent in hopes of having Congress eventually reelect him.

Now, it’s feeling a little more complicated just because of the sole fact that we’re starting to feel a little bit electioned-out at the moment given everything that we’ve seen in real life. There have been some parallels drawn here and there between the show and what’s been going on in reality, but at the same time they’re not so severe that it makes watching episodes completely frustrating.

What we do like about the sneak peek below in particular is how it puts the majority of its focus almost entirely on the idea of what’s next for the family in the event things go south, and that’s a nice window into how some of these people have to prepare for the next phase of their lives in the event that an election is lost. They have to properly determine what the next career path is for them; if Evans wins, Bess recognizes that she’ll be out of a job, and given the nature of what Henry is doing, there’s a reasonably good chance that the same exact thing could be said for him, as well.

Ultimately, life will go on, but we certainly have to hope that Dalton continues on as President. We have no idea what this show would become otherwise. We supposed that Evans could keep Bess on board, but what would that mean for the status of Keith Carradine on the series? We’re not entirely sure.
