‘The Walking Dead’ season midseason finale will (of course) run long

twdOver the past several weeks, “The Walking Dead” has showcased a wide array of different trends, with one of the biggest ones being that we could be seeing the show running anywhere from a few minutes to almost thirty past its typical run time on AMC. There are times we’ve enjoyed that extra time; however, there are other times we’ve felt that it’s bloated the show with unnecessary content, and you have to look at it as a possible reason why we’re seeing the show lose a little bit of viewership so far this season.

Per AMC releases, the December 11 installment / midseason finale entitled “Hearts Still Beating” is going to run until 10:25 p.m. Eastern time, which means almost that you’re getting a 90-minute episode to close out the show between now and when the second half of the series premieres in most likely February.

As for what is coming up during this said midseason finale, the network synopsis makes it clear that we are going to see complete chaos unfold in Alexandra as Negan’s decided for whatever reason to pay another visit to the community:

“Negan’s unwelcome visit to Alexandria continues as other members scavenge for supplies; things quickly spin out of control.”

Eventually, we knew that this was going to happen as not everyone was altogether down with Negan’s whole idea of taking half of the supplies. Rick Grimes has put up with it so far, but either someone could overrule his strategy in the town or he could realize that this isn’t the way to be with this guy. There’s a part of us that wants to think that his new attitude is a put-on, but there’s not a whole lot of evidence of that being the case.
