‘Big Brother OTT’: Would Jason win a jury vote?

Jason -There are only a handful of days left now between now and the end of “Big Brother: Over the Top,” and in going through this, it’s starting to feel rather clear to us why the summer “Big Brother” endgame is so much better than what we’re experiencing right now. That game at least ends with some sort of jury vote, and there was a little bit of drama left courtesy of getting the opportunity to see whether or not someone would be able to sway the jury even if they entered the final two as an underdog.

On this season, we’re left at the moment with a very different situation. Unless something really bizarre / shocking happens, Jason is almost sure to win this season (which is a final three) by a pretty wide margin. He’s got the biggest fan base, and more than that, we’re not really seeing enough proper unity around another candidate. This is one advantage that comes with him winning that Head of Household competition; fans know that he’ll be there, and they can unify and take some time rallying the vote behind him. That’s something that not everyone else currently in the game has the luxury of doing like a Morgan or a Justin.

Given that tonight’s a fairly boring one in the house (aside for some more smack-talk, which really doesn’t interest us at this point), we thought an interesting experiment at the moment would be seeing if Jason would win if he played the same exact game and there was a jury voting for the win rather than America. Let’s assume that there is a 7-member jury (given that is what we often had in past seasons of 12-13 players), and we still have the final three. This means that Neeley, Scott, Alex, Whitney, Danielle, Shelby, and then Morgan / Justin would be the jurors voting to determine the winner.

If the final three is Jason / Kryssie / Morgan – There are some people who we consider locks for Jason votes here in Neeley and Danielle. Meanwhile, we’re assuming that Scott, Alex, and Shelby are lock votes for Morgan. This brings us down to Whitney and Justin, and these two could be interesting. We could see Whitney voting for Jason given that she felt like more of a Misfit at the time she left the house. What about Justin? There’s your toss-up right now. If this was two weeks ago, Jason would be an easy winner. The question here is whether or not Jason would exercise jury management skills if he he knew his fellow players were voting. Since he was evicted before the jury in season 17, we don’t know if he has that or not. As it stands, we could see an emotional Justin casting Morgan the deciding vote for her to win the season. It’d probably be close. We would assume that if they knew he was a juror, everyone would be spending more time around Justin than they are.

If the final three is Jason / Kryssie / Justin – We’re not sure this is anywhere near as close. Justin may get a vote from Whitney, but given that the Ballsmashers did complain about Justin’s actions in the house and his attitude towards them wasn’t always great, we could see Alex going into “vote for the best player” mode and convincing at the very least Morgan to do the same. (Shelby may just try to run out of the house screaming and without voting.) We feel like if this was a season with a jury, Jason would probably also do his best to ensure that Justin made it to the end with him over Morgan, someone who he knows has a ton of allies.

In the end, it is really hard to make the comparison to a regular season given that we would assume that multiple people would play different with a jury in mind, but if we were to say that the games were roughly the same leading up to this point, Jason’s still probably got the inside track. We can just see at least one scenario here where we might have a slightly different result in the end.

Now, let’s just hope that if they do another “Big Brother OTT,” they find a way to incorporate America (maybe keep the Care Packages, if you must) while at least allowing the players to exercise some control in the endgame. (Photo: CBS.)
