‘Shameless’ season 7, episode 9 video: Emmy Rossum’s Fiona and a bad review
After all the hard work that Fiona has put in to making her laundromat into an actual operation, she obviously wanted to see things go down without a hitch. Unfortunately, that isn’t quite happening at the moment on “Shameless.”
In the sneak peek below from Sunday night’s new episode, you can see exactly what we’re talking about here as Emmy Rossum’s character is quickly informed that despite all of her best efforts, someone has already left a bad review online — and seemingly for no good reason. This is a person who, per the Yelp profile, is only a young teenager, and probably doesn’t even fully understand the difference between something being good and bad just yet.
We mostly feel for Fiona after this because in looking at her laundromat, we gotta say that it’s cleaner than several of the ones that we’ve actually been in over the course of our lives. If we were using it, we’d probably give it a fairly good review with the only potential negative being the presence of Frank there. We don’t think he’s the sort of person that you want offering any “patronage” for longer than just a few short minutes. Otherwise, the mental image of the place burning to the ground will start to spread.
Hopefully, the bad review won’t slow Fiona down too much as she continues to try to push her life in a better direction. We’ve said this many times over, but we do think it’d be a fun storyline before the end to see her find some success, only for us to then figure out after that precisely what sort of challenges then await her as she figures out what it is that she wants to do with it.
