NBC’s ‘The Voice’ song spoilers: What Sundance Head, Darby Walker, Josh Gallagher will sing
Tonight, the top 11 on “The Voice” are coming out to perform, and in the process of that, we’re going to have a chance to see many of them take on songs that are, once again, unique. Hats off to this show for continuing to clear songs that aren’t just from some generic catalogue of songs that we’ve heard many times in the past.
Take a look at all of the choices below, and remember that we’ll be back a little bit later in order to offer up our further take on many of these performances on the night.
Ali Caldwell, “9 to 5” – It’s against type, and that’s what we like about it. We know that Miley Cyrus has a personal relationship with Dolly Parton, so maybe she was able to bring her in to add some further insight on this number.
Aaron Gibson, “Hurt” – Will this be more like the Nine Inch Nails version or the Johnny Cash cover? It’s an interesting question, and it could influence how much we enjoy this performance.
Darby Walker, “You Don’t Own Me” – Kudos to Darby for taking on this particularly sassy, pop-culture-fueled song. This could potentially be one of her better performances, and one that could actually sell on iTunes.
Sundance Head, “No One” – It’s clever for Blake Shelton to gave one of his artists an Alicia Keys song, but a country version of this could be fun!
Austin Allsup, “Turn the Page” – Even his other country singer isn’t doing something firmly in the genre! Bob Seger’s still beloved, so this should prove to be rather great.
Courtney Harrell, “What I Did for Love” – We wonder if Courtney chose this, since we certainly don’t expect Blake to be that familiar with “A Chorus Line.”
Christian Cuevas, “Rosanna” – Strangely, this isn’t the first time we’ve thought about Toto today given how we spent much of the earlier portion of today singing “Africa” to ourselves.
We McDonald, “Love on Your Brain” – Fun choice from We to do a Rihanna song that isn’t necessarily one of her best-known songs. There should be something invigorated about it.
Billy Gilman, “All I Ask” – Doing Adele: This is Billy going for the gusto. Hopefully, it ends up living up to our expectations.
Josh Gallagher, “Drunk on Your Love” – Interestingly, the one country singer not on Team Blake is the only one doing an actual country song tonight.
Brendan Fletcher, “The River” – Great choice. We love that Bruce Springsteen is getting a cover on this show!
