‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2 spoilers: The Legion of Doom is fully formed in winter finale
Over the past several episodes of “Legends of Tomorrow” season 2, we’ve gotten a slightly better sense as to how the Legion of Doom is going to operate as villains this season. Eobard Thawne is the character capable of moving around the timeline, and he also now has the assistance of one Damien Darhk. Sure, he’s immortal, but it certainly helps him further that he now can also do what he can in order to change up the timeline to favor his own future.
We heard before this season that both Malcolm Merlyn and Leonard Snart would also be a part of this group, and there were questions aplenty regarding when we would end up seeing them. We’ve now got an answer: In the upcoming December 8 midseason finale entitled “The Chicago Way.”
At some point during the episode, Merlyn is going to surface and surprise many of the show’s characters — but ultimately, Sara may not be able to stop him since she has to figure out if she would rather try and stop the Legion of Doom or help Martin Stein after he falls into some serious danger.
Meanwhile, Snart’s arrival is going to come more in relation to Mick Rory, which only seems right given that the two characters are so inherently tied due to their past.
The setting for this episode is going to be Chicago in 1927, but moving forward this season, we presume one of the most interesting questions we’ve got is how the time period is going to factor into things. Given that the Legion can move through time of their own accord, it’s not like any particular time is going to contain a chance to stop them whereas another would inhibit it. We could easily see a sort of “Timeless” situation unfolding where the bad guys try to destroy certain parts of history, and the Legends have to figure out how to stop it.
