‘The Flash’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Heroes’ alum Greg Grunberg officially cast
The third season of “The Flash” has a wide array of different stories coming up over the course of the next several months, but let’s go ahead and talk about a thing or two about a casting that’s fallen somewhat underneath the cracks (and rather unfortunately so).
According to a new report coming in right now via Mashable, “Heroes” and “Alias” alum Greg Grunberg is going to be appearing across multiple episodes of the CW series, and is playing a part in Detective Tom Patterson that could prove itself to be a rather interesting one. Why? It sounds stupid, but the only explanation we can offer is that Grunberg is playing him. We cannot imagine that you’re going to get a guy of his caliber to come on board as another TV cop unless you’ve got some interesting stuff lined up for him to play.
One of the main reasons why we could be seeing him right now is because it’s been a little while since Joe West has had anywhere near a consistent partner on the force. Previously, we saw him being paired up with Eddie Thawne in the first season, and then last season with Patty Spivot. Since her departure, there hasn’t really been a consistent #2 for Joe; Barry for the time being has Julian Alpert, and we’ve seen him work alongside Joe here and there. (Note: We don’t know for sure that Patterson is going to be paired with Joe, but isn’t speculation fun?)
“The Flash” will air another episode next week in “Killer Frost”; beyond that, we have coming up the epic crossover event featuring all of the various shows within the CW universe.
