‘Longmire’ season 6: When should Netflix premiere it?

At this point, the great news is starting to settle in: “Longmire” season 6 is coming to Netflix next year! With that being said, there are still a variety of other questions still floating around out there, with one of them being so simple as trying to determine precisely when the show is going to air.

Over a year ago for season 4, we gotta say that we loved when the show came on the air in Friday, September 10. This was almost the perfect time for any dedicated TV viewer to check the show out. It was before the start of the fall season, but at the same time, it aired after many shows for the summer were starting to wind down. Therefore, in our mind it was the perfect time to dive into a little bit of binge-watching.

From there, we think turn to season 5, which aired at a time that was slightly more unfortunate starting on September 23. The drawback to airing at this point in time in particular was that it was a much busier time complete with more options across the board. Even Netflix had “Luke Cage” starting up one week later.

We know that “Longmire” is now entering its final season, and as a result of that, viewership doesn’t quite matter as much as it did and you ultimately at this point just want as many people to watch as possible. Even still, we do think that it would serve the show well if it could figure out a way to start things off earlier in the month of September. That way, it has a chance to shine more on its own, and that its series finale has the opportunity to make the pop-culture splash it deserves before other options start to completely overrun things and become overwhelming.
