‘The Walking Dead’ season 7, episode 4 preview: What’s ahead for Andrew Lincoln, cast in ‘Service’

twdTonight, “The Walking Dead” is bringing to you an episode entitled “The Cell” that looks on the surface of things to be very much geared around Daryl Dixon, Dwight, and some horrors that could be coming his way while at the Saviors’ Sanctuary. While this show does have a tendency to surprise here and there, they also do show a certain amount of commitment to a single storyline (or two) in an episode. They don’t feel the pressure to jump around to a dozen or so different things as “Game of Thrones” often does. We’re not saying one approach is better than the other; they are both effective for the given show.

Next week, the setting is shifting back to Alexandria where we have a chance to see some of our characters struggle to come to terms with what has transpired. It’ll be your first chance to see many of them following the premiere, and “disheveled” may be a good way to describe what they are going through. It’s too bad that some early indications suggest that things could be going from bad to worse.

Synopsis (via TV Guide) – “The remaining members of the core group hold together in Alexandria. Then, they receive a sobering visit.”

Could this “sobering visit” come from Negan? This is at present what we are worried about, and there’s a perfectly good reason for said fear given what we’ve seen him do now. This is the effectiveness of a twist a la what we saw during the premiere; now, every time that we see this character, we know exactly what it is that he is capable of doing.

One other quick reminder here: “Service” is going to run for approximately 85 minutes if the latest listings are to be believed. Therefore, you better settle in to watch a long installment — and hopefully one that justifies the longer length.

Promo – This basically confirms everything that we just mentioned above; Negan is visiting Alexandria, and this will cause some serious PTSD for the survivors as Rick in particular questions if there is an escape plan.

We’ll have a review of tonight’s new episode before long over at this linkStay tuned! (Photo: AMC.)
