‘Talking Dead’ spoilers: Scott Aukerman, ‘surprise cast member’ joining Chris Hardwick

talkingSometimes, “Talking Dead” likes to give you a wide array of information in advance regarding what is coming up on their upcoming episodes. However, there are also times when they give almost next to nothing. Going into Sunday night’s new episode following the “Walking Dead” episode entitled “The Cell,” this is more of the situation in which we are encountering.

Here is what we know for certain: Show host Chris Hardwick is going to be joined by Scott Aukerman of “Comedy Bang! Bang!” fame, which is exciting mostly because he’s a funny guy and we’re always happy to get incredibly entertaining people turning up on the aftershow. Aukerman’s going to probably have some great takes, and because he’s not appearing on a super-serious episode like the one that followed the premiere, there should be some flexibility for him to work.

Then, we’ve also got the surprise cast member that is turning up. Who could it be? We would say that Norman Reedus and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are possibilities given that Daryl and Negan could both have a prominent role in this episode, but they were both recently a part of the event after the premiere. If we had to guess, we’d say that the top possibility here is seeing Austin Amelio, who of course plays Dwight on the series. He’s got a smaller role on the show overall, but this could be a showcase opportunity for him tonight. We could get more insight this character’s head in hopes of better understanding some of his various dilemmas.

In general, we imagine that we’ve got an entertaining show ahead, mostly because “Talking Dead” usually does deliver. What this show has done more so than anything else is establish an incredibly precedent, one that is difficult for some other series to try and match.
