‘Shark Tank’ videos: The Style Club, EcoFlower, and Safe Catch

Shark Tank -

Earlier today, we posted our preview for tonight’s “Shark Tank” in terms of spotlighting in general some of the products that are going to be appearing. Now, we’re looking at things from the vantage point of sneak peeks! It’s almost a gradual process with this show week in and week out where we slowly start to get to know these products better leading to learning as to whether or not they’ll get a deal.

We do think in general that we tend to be more accurate in our predictions in this sneak-peek articles than we are in our aforementioned previews. It does make some sense, given that here we’ve got something much more tangible to go on in terms of actual footage.

Safe Catch – As we mentioned earlier, we like that the business is simple: Tuna with a lower mercury count than the average stuff you buy in the can. Therefore, it’s healthier for you and you can enjoy your old favorites without concern. this is emphasized perfectly in their pitch, though we gotta say we’re probably going to lose our mind if we hear the phrase “make [insert thing here] great again,” as these guys do, on a regular basis beyond next week.

The Style Club – Ironically, we almost got another “make [insert thing here] great again” during this pitch, as well! Has it permeated this much of society at this point? We didn’t fully grasp what the concept for this was when we wrote our first piece earlier today, thinking that it was more or less another fashion brand. It’s being pitched here almost as more of a fashion experience and community with multiple ways to shop and where music videos and influencers play a role. It still does feel like a gussied-up fashion brand to us in many ways, but the awareness of modern trends and the target demo may give the company a better chance of getting a deal than we first suggested.

EcoFlower – This is a nice pitch, since it’s pretty clear exactly what the product is (flower bouquets made from wood and other sustainable materials) and what makes this special and different from the alternative. For the most part, the product looks lovely and there’s a kitschy charm to them. There is one thing that they are missing, though, and that’s the smell. There is something wonderful on a sensory level about that.

We like this product, but is it worth the $4 million valuation? We have to wait for the pitch. Our other concern is figuring out precisely the target audience and if the flowers are permanent, how much repeat business is attainable here.

We’ll be back tonight at this link to review tonight’s episode in full. Stay tuned! (Photo: ABC.)
