‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 8, episode 3 preview: On Stefan, Caroline, and what’s next

We’re not going to pretend that next week’s new episode of “The Vampire Diaries” is going to feature the Bonnie Bennett character making her most difficult choice of her entire time on the show. We’re not sure if it will even be her most difficult choice of the past couple of years. We don’t mean this in any way to de-legitimize anything that she is going through moving forward this season; instead, we’re trying to remind you precisely how much that this character has been through already. It’s hard to imagine anyone going through more in terms of people who are close to them dying, or having to make choices that put lives in jeopardy.

The title for next week’s episode is “You Decided That I Was Worth Saving,” which makes us wonder in some way if it is a reference to what Bonnie will ultimately be doing over the course of the hour.

Synopsis – “As Enzo (Michael Malarkey) continues to fight the control over him, Bonnie (Kat Graham) finds herself at the center of a deadly game and forced to make a heart wrenching decision involving two of the most important people in her life. At the Armory, Alaric (Matt Davis) researches a mysterious artifact that he hopes will help in their fight to get Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Enzo back. Finally, Damon’s downward spiral leads him to Tyler Lockwood (guest star Michael Trevino) who attempts to talk some sense into him before it’s too late.”

Hey, Tyler Lockwood is back! To us, it’s always great news to see someone return to the show who was at one point a huge part in the fabric of its success. Hopefully, this is not his only appearance this season.
