‘Gotham’ season 3 spoilers: The search for a doppelganger

Could we really be looking at a situation where Mayor Oswald Copplebot is a possibility on “Gotham“? It may sound completely strange and is rather frightening, but that’s precisely what is happening. The show’s got him in a position where he can rule the city in an entirely different way than expected, and you can expect to see this particular story heat up for him on the upcoming October 10 episode entitled “Mad City: New Day Rising.”

“Penguin gains power as he narrows in on the nomination for Mayor of Gotham. Meanwhile, Gordon turns Alice (guest star Naian Gonzalez Norvind) into the GCPD for the bounty. Also, Bruce and Alfred race to find Bruce’s doppleganger after learning he’s assumed Bruce’s identity.”

We’re glad to see that Oswald has a consistently strong story this season after he was forgotten somewhat near the end of the second half of season 2. As for the other stories mentioned here, Alice is tied to the story of the Mad Hatter, who will be a key component of many different hours to come. Meanwhile, Bruce’s doppelganger seems to be mostly a field day for David Mazouz to play, though we don’t know a whole lot about him just yet, including some of what motivates him and what he is fighting to achieve. While it may be easy to jump to the conclusion that the character is evil, that does not necessarily mean that it is so.
