‘Dancing with the Stars 23’: Was Ryan Lochte ambushed or attacked again?

Lochte -Last week, “Dancing with the Stars” stirred up a lot of controversy thanks to what we saw unfold with Ryan Lochte getting ambushed at the end of his performance. It was the talk of several days, but over the weekend things were starting to quiet down; ironically, that was around the same time the ABC series was likely beefing up security as they prepared for what would be Lochte’s second foray into the ballroom.

The real fear we had for Ryan was that it’d be hard to stop people from coming in and trying to terrorize him after his performance, given that they could just be armed with their voice and nothing else. This is a very hard thing to defend against.

Here’s the good news when it comes to Ryan: There were no incidents on the dance floor itself. Nobody booed the Olympic swimmer in the crowd; instead, the only real booing came in the direction of the judges, who were fairly critical of his technique and some of the mistakes that he made over the course of the show. The bad news was that he got some relatively low scores, and we do think that everyone way hoping for this to be a real redemption story for him.

Does the lack of incident mean that he is completely out of the woods this season? Not necessarily. What we hope that it means is that the focus is put once more back on the dancing more so than anything else. If that tradition holds, it may be easier to forget the past.
