‘Fear the Walking Dead’ season 2, episode 11 video: Nick buys a little time

Are we about to see Nick on “Fear the Walking Dead” this season start to enter a certain “empire business”? While it would be funny to see Walter White turn up here in the world’s oddest AMC crossover, that is not exactly what’s going on here.

Instead, this new sneak peek for Sunday’s episode is a little bit more about Nick and Alejandro doing everything that they can to buy a little bit more time — and in turn, have a little bit more hope for the future. What we really love about this preview more so than anything else is that it shows Nick’s evolution as a character. Just a few weeks ago, this was a guy who wanted nothing more than to hang out with walkers, who made him feel more like himself than arguably many of the humans did. Now, he’s found a place where he can actually put some of his skills to use.

Sure, some of Nick’s skills are the ones that he picked up while being a junkie, but sometimes it doesn’t quite matter where you pick up skills as much as the sole fact as you’ve got them, and you’re finding a way to put some of them to use. Ultimately, we’re down with this story just because it should be fun, and offer up a very different viewpoint on this character than what we’ve become used to over time.
