‘American Horror Story’ season 6 premiere: What should happen

AHS -

The sixth season of “American Horror Story” is one that has been shrouded in mystery more so than any other. FX has yet to release the full cast, the synopsis, or even a confirmed theme. Instead, they’ve continued to merely provide a series of super-cryptic previews without much of a precise sense as to how things are going to be coming to a close.

The only thing that we know for certain is that the premiere is September 14, which is a matter of just over two weeks away! When you think about relative proximity, they’re not exactly giving us a ton of time to prepare for what’s next. It’s a little hard writing this particular edition of our What Should Happen series given that we know almost nothing about what the story will be. Still, this wouldn’t be fun unless we tried!

Where we left off – At the end of season 5, the Hotel Cortez saw its story come to an end, and what a weird, complicated story it was in between the Ten Commandments Killer, the “blood virus” that was really just lame vampirism, and Mr. Marsh proving himself to be one of the most frustrating villains in the history of the franchise.

What should happen – Moving forward, our #1 priority is that we get to see something that really emphasizes more of a less-is-more approach. No matter the setting or the case, this should could benefit from a 40-50% reduction in characters, two or three storylines going as opposed to five or six, and also something that goes back to being creepy rather than gaudy and over-the-top. There weren’t really too many moments in season 5 that we found ourselves genuinely afraid; more often than not, we were simply frustrated.
