‘Big Brother 18’ episode 29 review: Not friendship
There was a good percentage of Sunday night’s “Big Brother 18” episode that was like watching a 1990’s sitcom, where the characters were entertaining at times and incredibly inauthentic at others. In some ways, though, we admit that many of the problems here are personal.
Let’s talk a little bit about bias here for a minute. When you watch a show that is on three nights a week (and in some cases, four nights) for longer than two months, you get attached to certain people and you get frustrated with others. The people are often the most frustrating are people who are in showmances, and then also people who say the same irrational things over and over again, such as that things “scare” them or work overtime to make other people feel like they are pathetic and really incapable of doing anything.
On a game level, Nicole is playing amazingly well given that she managed to convince Natalie and James to join her and Corey in going after Paul this week. Strategically, it probably does make sense, but as a viewer there is just something difficult about rooting for Nicole. She and Corey just don’t make good television, and they often come across like they are trying to be “the good guys” rather than people playing a ruthless game.
Therefore, there’s something about seeing Paul and Victor (probably the best two characters left, entertainment and gameplay wise) going on the block this episode that is rather distressing. The same goes for having Michelle, who has gotten better and better, being one of the people to do it. We do think that she needed to split them up eventually, but it didn’t make sense for it to be now since they wanted to take her further than any other pair in the house.
In the end, Paul’s probably not feeling much like friendship right now. He fell victim to a big move and was outplayed. We wish it was a little bit more fun getting to that point, but hey, if you’re a Nicole fan, who knows? Maybe you enjoyed it. Grade: B-.

Paul used to annoy me and i wanted him gone. Now he’s my fav and he’s the target. Maybe i should take Nicole as my next fav so she’ll be the next target? She is soooo annoying. Her voice.. ugh! I think Paul’s secret service foolishness won me over. He had me laughing hysterically and his game is on point too.

I liked him at first, Paulie turned me off him for a bit, but now I’m back on board. #Friendship
