‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ season 11, episode 7 review: Are Heather Dubrow and Kelly Dodd at odds?

Heather DubrowOn the last episode of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” we saw Kelly and Shannon sit down to talk about what happened at the party… and this talk went just about as badly as it could. Can these two find some sort of peace before the season is over? Although we are a big believer in forgiveness, there were a lot of really difficult things said that can’t be taken back, but we hope they can find some common ground.

Tamra is setting up a pre-pregnancy party for Meghan to enjoy all the things she won’t be having once she is pregnant like sushi and liquor. Because Meghan mentions a moment that she had with Vicki, Tamra invites Vicki to this sushi lunch, but Meghan isn’t happy about it. Tamra offers to un-invite Vicki, but now Meghan doesn’t want to go at all because she doesn’t want to see Vicki and knows that un-inviting Vicki will cause unwanted drama. The next day Meghan says it was all miscommunication and that she’s now fine with Vicki coming to the party.

At the party, Vicki offers the olive branch to Meghan right away with a thoughtful gift and an apology, saying that she hopes they can be more then just cordial when they see each other around town. Although the party started off well, as per usual in this group of ladies, by the end of the party everything was going sideways. Kelly brings up what Nina said again and Shannon denies that it was said (Tamra and Meghan both confirm that it was in fact said). Kelly gets turned up really fast and calls Shannon a name that should not be repeated by anyone, at anytime, ever. When Tamra gets involved, Kelly calls her the same unmentionable word. Finally Heather stands up saying that this type of vulgar talk won’t be tolerated and tells Kelly to leave the party. When Kelly won’t leave, Heather decides to leave.

We did end the episode with Kelly apologizing to Shannon and Tamra for calling them names and while Tamra wants to try to move past it, Shannon is still too hurt. The one person that was really affected by this exchange of words was Heather as we saw her crying on the phone with David – a very rare moment to see Heather undone. The weirdest comment of the episode for us came from Vicki when she said that she was afraid that if she slapped David Beador in that fight at the 70’s party that he would slap her back. It certainly would not be okay for David to hit Vicki back if she slapped him, but really no one should be slapping anyone in the first place. Episode grade: B+
