‘The Night Shift’ season 3, episode 11 review: Did Brianna get her lung transplant?
The last episode of “The Night Shift” kicked us right in the heart – sometimes in a bad way like watching Topher learn that he’s getting fired when the hospital is taken over and sometimes in an amazing way like seeing Drew ask Brianna if he can adopt her. That’s what we love about this show, just one episode can make us feel so many things.
If you thought that the Jordan and Scott kiss was going to be left in the last episode you will be happy to know that it’s not being left unresolved. Annie tells TC that she and Scott are thinking of moving in together, but when Scott finds out he starts to back pedal. Is it because of that kiss with Jordan? It’s hard to tell since Scott is telling Jordan that the kiss was just during an emotional moment and that’s it. He eventually tells Annie that he kissed Jordan and that he’s scared himself off a bit from moving so fast. How is Jordan feeling about everything? After meeting a man and woman in a very happy open marriage she realizes that it’s possible to love two people at the same time… is one of those people Scott? Annie confronts Jordan about the kiss saying that she is emotionally confused.
TC is drinking his sorrows away with Drew and is not doing well after and Jessica. It goes from having a few drinks to getting into a bar brawl where Drew ends up in jail with TC. Is this going to affect adopting Brianna? One thing it’s definitely going to affect is Drew being in jail is Brianna getting her lungs, and him not being there. Brianna is refusing to go into surgery without Drew there, so Paul lies to her saying that they found Drew and he will be there when she wakes up. When Drew finally gets his call to work he finds out that Brianna is getting her lungs and he’s not there for it – he punches TC in the face. With everyone at the hospital crazy busy, Jessica bails Drew and TC out. This changes nothing for Jessica and TC, but Drew (and Rick) get to the hospital after Brianna is already in surgery.
It was great having Syd back on the show tonight and she came at the best time since he was beating himself up for not being there for Brianna before she went into surgery. Luckily, she’s got a new set of lungs and now we are just hoping that this little bar fight doesn’t make it harder for Drew and Rick to adopt Brianna. Also, are we going to lose TC? He is looking to take up Syd’s offer to go work in Turkey for a month. Episode grade: B+
