‘Mistresses’ season 4 spoilers: First look at ‘Survival of the Fittest’

When “Mistresses” returns to television next month after a long hiatus, it’s going to be doing so on a different night than usual. ABC has confirmed that the show will be returning on Tuesday, August 2 with an episode entitled “Survival of the Fittest” following the premiere of “Bachelor in Paradise.” While we cannot confirm that this time swap will be permanent, it’s at least notable. (Our guess is that this is just a way to further ensure that the show airs its entire run this summer, given that we are only six episodes into the journey so far.)

Based on the just-released synopsis via ABC, it appears that there is going to be a lot going on that hopefully makes the show worth the wait:

“Alec threatens for full custody of Vivian, sending Karen into a panic. April and Marc find a condom in Lucy’s jacket, forcing April to give “the talk.” Kate doesn’t tell Joss and Harry about her new boyfriend, as it could have serious repercussions. Joss’ actions put Jonathan’s nephew in the hospital and later causes tension in her and Harry’s relationship.”

We certainly feel for what’s going on with Karen; as for Joss and Harry, though, we seriously just wish we’d get over some of the relationship drama. It’s pretty clear at this point that the show wants to make the two of them together, so why not just have them be that way? If they go in this direction, then we can wash our hands somewhat of the “will they or won’t they?” and then move on to some other fascinating topics.
