‘Murder in the First’ season 3, episode 4 preview: Is it over for Terry, Hildy already?

Murder in the First -It was just over an episode ago on “Murder in the First” that fans of the Terry / Hildy relationship got what they wanted in the form of these two characters being together. They had a moment sparked by a false diagnosis, and briefly, it seemed like the two could make being an undercover couple work.

Unfortunately, there are two very-evident problems here:

1. Their relationship is not going to be undercover in the eyes of the people who matter the most, and those are the folks in the Police Department. As a matter of fact, we could see Terry and Hildy facing an ultimatum when it comes to being together while also being on the force.

2. Given everything that is still going on in the aftermath of the shooting, understandably Terry could be concerned about having her become both a target of the media and also citizens who are angry about the situation at present. Even if there was a gun found near the scene of the shooting, will that really quiet everyone?

In the end, our hope for Sunday’s episode is that the two find a way to make something work, but there’s no doubting that this will be difficult thanks to the circumstances placed around them. Due to the frenetic nature of their lives plus the Normandy Parker case, they have not had that time to sit down and discuss things fully. They’re making decisions on-the-fly, and who knows? It is certainly possible that this will continue a while longer moving further into this season.
