‘The Last Ship’ season 3, episode 6 video: The showdown to save Slattery

You’ve been waiting for weeks to see the big payoff to the Slattery storyline on “The Last Ship” this season, so rest assured of one thing: It’s almost here! Sunday night’s new episode entitled “Dog Day” could feature the rescue mission like no other, and everyone is aware of the stakes involved here.

You can read it almost from Chandler’s face in the promo below: He knows that there is a good chance that this mission could blow up, and Takehaya could get precisely what he wants. To date, he has proven himself to be extremely resourceful, and capable of getting at least some of what he wants. (As for if it happens in the way in which he hopes, that’s a little bit of a different story.)

This mission is so dangerous that back at home, President Michener is preparing two speeches: One in which it turns out to be a success, and one if it is a failure. So far, his Presidency has found itself to be an incredibly bumpy road, one where there are significant trust missions and questions as to whether or not he is really the right person to lead the country through this quagmire. We’ll see where the rest of this saga unfolds, but the chance is there that he won’t emerge as President on the other side.

Of course, rest assured that we will be back come tomorrow night with some further news tied to the show, and that includes a review for everything that happened over the course of the hour.
