TV Death Toll: On ‘Gotham’ season 3 and fears for Barbara, Lee Thompkins, Butch, and others

Gotham -Gotham” is a show that knows its way around death. Granted, it does also know its way around resurrection, but with Hugo Strange’s operation seemingly shut down for now, we have to imagine that there will be no more Azrael characters crawling out and causing chaos anymore.

With that in mind, we’re continuing our TV Death Toll series today by focusing on “Gotham,” and posing the all-important question as to who we should be the most worried about moving forward on the series.

Butch – He’s a really fun character, but he also seems to be one who needs a crime boss to gravitate towards. Sooner or later, we could see someone cutting him to send a message, or maybe he just gets caught in the crossfire.

Lee Thompkins – This is an example of someone alive in the Batman universe we could see the show killing off, though we don’t really want to see that given that she was absent for so much of season 2 in the first place.

Fish Mooney – Hey, she’s already been dead once. Also, Jada Pinkett Smith is only going to be around for so long, and this character does not really know how to keep herself out of harm’s way. We anticipate trouble here, and plenty of it.

Barbara Kean – The probably with Barbara is that, like Fish, she doesn’t know how to be under-the-radar. She can stay quiet for a short period of time, and then burn out bright. There is something that happened to her more than likely as a result of Hugo Strange that has not been fully explored just yet, and when it does, we absolutely think that it will be dangerous and incredibly interesting. There’s just a good chance she will not be alive on the other side.

Harvey Bullock – We had to say we fear for him, or that we want to see another Donal Logue character killed off; yet, it seems too predictable to kill off Barnes since we almost did that. If you want to make Gordon more unhinged, you take away the one person who he cares about the most.
