Ratings: ‘Big Brother 18,’ ‘Beauty and the Beast’ steady; ‘Aquarius’ season 2 rises

Big Brother -The ratings for Thursday night have come in, and by and large, most of the numbers are little more than a yawner.

Yet, there is at least some good news coming in right now for “Aquarius,” given that the David Duchovny series scored a new season high with a 0.5 rating in the demo. Yet, at the same time this doesn’t exactly mark the performance of a show that is going to be getting renewed at any point in the future. It’s still a ho-hum number, and we’re hoping to see some improvement be posted here if it wants a real shot at coming back. (We’re not optimistic at present.)

Elsewhere, many other shows on the schedule were fairly steady. “Big Brother” managed to hold firm with a solid 1.8 rating; sure, we’re still down for the most part compared to last summer, but given that this has been a fairly straightforward season so far, there is little reason for more and more people to watch.”Beauty and the Beast,” meanwhile, kept firm at its 0.2 rating, while “BattleBots” stayed at a 0.9 rating.

We suppose that the one change on the night was the decline in the music show “Greatest Hits,” which dropped slightly to a 1.0 rating. Still, when you consider for the most part the struggles for many summer shows this year, maybe it still has a chance of sticking around. We’ve certainly seen some shows be eliminated from the schedule who have done much worse.
