‘MasterChef’ season 7, episode 7 preview: Gordon Ramsay takes on Manny

What would “MasterChef,” or any Gordon Ramsay show, be without the chef screaming in the faces of some of the contestants? It’s a rite of passage, so to speak, and it really comes out at some of the Team Challenges.

In the preview that aired tonight for next week’s new episode, we saw Gordon getting into it with Manny in particular, challenging him to try to get his best food out there. Hopefully, this wakes him up a bit. Personality-wise, Manny’s amazing, and one of the best bits of casting that the show has this season. Unfortunately, he has floated somewhat under the radar as of late in the competition, and this is probably not how you want to be called out during something with other team members around.

As for what else we know about the Team Challenge, we know that the home cooks will be making something for many men and women serving in the military, which adds to the pressure given that the whole point of the day is to try and make them feel special. It’s something that the show has done before, and it’s always a nice gesture since beyond just giving them food, it’s a reminder to viewers to care for our veterans.

Aside from that, we also know that Alejandro is going to have a leadership role in this episode as one of the captains thanks to his performance in the lobster challenge. However, it’s not clear who the other captain will be. Maybe Alejandro picks them? If so, that’d be really interesting and open the door for some strategy talk.
