‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 wishlist: Hopes for Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, cast
“Game of Thrones” is done for the year. We may not like to say it (trust us, we really don’t), but the cold reality here still is that we are going to be stuck waiting between now and potentially the spring of next year to see where the story is going to go. At least we’ve got a few great jumping-off points now, in between Cersei on the Iron Throne, stability in the north, and Dany heading to Westeros with Tyrion and her army.
So what do we want to see in season 7? This is what this article is all about! Rest assured there are no spoilers, though we don’t think there was really any risk of that since almost nobody knows where we are going from here (even book readers).
1. A battle at sea with Euron Greyjoy – We’ve seen this show do so many incredibly impressive battles over the years, but there hasn’t been much in the way of ones over the water. We presume that Euron and all of his ships are heading to Essos to fulfill their latest chapter of their plan, but Dany already has Theon and Yara on her side, and plenty of ships from the slavers in the region. This could be a really epic, interesting battle, and right now the Iron Islands may be one of her biggest threats left given that the sea is their element much more than it is hers. (Granted, you could just make a case for the dragons coming in and trying to burn everything to a crisp.)
Also, who doesn’t want more great material for Emilia Clarke and Peter Dinklage, especially after the latter had a fairly quiet year?
2. More reunions – Have Arya eventually find her way to Winterfell and join Sansa, Jon, and presumably even Bran within the city walls. Meanwhile, find a way to get Sam back into orbit of a few other characters after this super-quiet year, and have Ser Jorah eventually either return to Bear Island (more Lyanna!) or find Dany once more. Reunions are fun, and they’re even emotional on this show.
3. Real White Walker preparation – While the people in the north know they’re out there, they haven’t done a whole lot to prepare for them. This is where that changes.
4. Jaime killing Cersei – Hey, he was killing someone during one of Bran’s visions, and since he saw wildfire, we feel like he can see the future. This would be heartbreaking, but a moment where the Kingslayer could free other people of pain if Cersei is as terrifying a ruler as we imagine she could be.
