‘Power’ season 3 video: Go behind the scenes to look at show fashion

The third season of “Power” is going to be premiering on Sunday, July 17, and while you may have to wait a little while longer for some further news when it comes to the story of the show, you don’t have to wait anywhere near as long to get at least a worthwhile look behind the scenes.

In the video below, you can see former NBA star and actor Rick Fox take you on the other side of the curtain for the Starz sensation, and for the sake of this particular video, we’re focusing on fashion! He speaks specifically with costume designer Frank Fleming, who works hard at ensuring that Omari Hardwick and the rest of the actors on the show look not only sharp, but authentic. We do gotta say — this is one of those shows out there, along with “Suits,” that really gives us a great sense of fashion envy.

What’s also interesting about this video is that it tells you a little bit about how the fashion of this show in some ways ends up influencing the characters onscreen. For example, Fleming mentions how the evolution of Angela’s clothing could be in some way inspired by her relationship with Jamie, even if it does happen on almost a subconscious level. Clothes are a reflection of someone’s mood and also their financial state, which is something that we hope that we see through several seasons to come.

Hopefully, these videos are something that Starz will continue to put out there as we get closer to the big return; it’s a long hiatus, but these are a nice reminder that there is plenty of awesomeness still ahead.
