‘Nashville’ season 5 search continues; fans still fighting for new home

It was one week ago that ABC aired what is, at present, the series finale of “Nashville.” However, as we know within the world of television these days, there is still hope.

As of right now, the series is still not dead and buried. We heard last week that there were a number of interested parties in continuing the show, and Entertainment Weekly confirms that these talks are still happening. There has been no clear word as of yet regarding just who these possible venues could be, but we feel like Hulu is one of the more natural fits out of the providers out there. We also figure some cable networks could have some interest, as well, provided they could find ways to market the series where the majority of its fans on ABC found a way to watch.

Tonight at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, there is going to be a rewatching of the pilot under the hashtag #NashRewind, which will give fans a chance to interact and express their desire to see the show back. Trending in America or even specific cities could be enough to at least get a suitor’s attention, and show that fans of this show are willing to subscribe to a new service (or watch a new network) just for the purposes of seeing one of their favorite shows.

There’s no specific timetable as to when “Nashville” would need to a find a new deal, but we imagine that Lionsgate will exhaust all options over the coming weeks. Hopefully, there will be something to show for it on the other side.
