Excited to see the return of “The Strain” and “You’re the Worst” to FX and FXX, respectively? Well, let’s just hope that you can bottle up that excitement for a while, since you’re going to be waiting for a little while to see these shows come back on the air.
On Sunday, August 28 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, you can expect to see “The Strain” back on the air with a story that will probably bring you some more shockers … and also potentially gross you out. Here’s the logline that we have for it at the moment:
“As season three begins, New York City is a battleground. Written off by the federal government, the people of New York City must fight for survival on their own. The question is who will win? Humans or strigoi? Our heroes win victories, but are not winning the war. Beset by personal conflicts – betrayal, disappointment, paranoia – our group is splintering… Meanwhile, the Master is close to executing an irreversible transformation of the world. Is there still hope to save the city and humanity?”
Meanwhile, “You’re the Worst” (otherwise known as one of the most underrated and real comedies on TV, given some of the issues it tackles) will return to FXX on Wednesday, August 31 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern. We’d make a plea for more people to watch it, but we could really say this about most of the comedies on this network. (“Man Seeking Woman” is certainly also on this list.) The specifics around the upcoming stories here are not quite as clear as they are with “The Strain,” but we’re pretty sure that there will probably be some great stuff in store.
