‘Survivor: Kaoh Rong’ episode 11 video: The immunity challenge combines brain and brawn

Survivor -Were the producers for “Survivor” thinking of us when they crafted the latest immunity challenge for Wednesday night’s new episode? It’s probably incorrect to say that, but after watching the new video sneak peek below, it definitely does feel as though someone was cognizant of some of the issues that were coming up. While endurance competitions are fun, it’s a little boring when all of them are just “stand on this” or “balance this.” It’s something that seems to happen more and more over the years; maybe it’s a fairness issue, or maybe it’s also a budget one. Other than the domino challenge, it feels like the majority of the immunities this season have had more of an endurance component to them.

This week, we’re going to see something that combines a little bit of speed and strength, but then also tests your mental acumen. You have to run out to a platform, and then memorize a series of numbers that correspond to a given animal. You have to use these in turn to solve some sort of puzzle back on the beach.

If you can manage to memorize all of this in one go, you have a pretty good shot at winning this. Yet, that’s easier said than done when you consider that these players are incredibly exhausted, and that comes from having to spend so many days out playing one of the most-brutal seasons in the show’s history.

If you cannot memorize in one go, then such things as speed become more important. The more you have to go back and forth, the more you’re going to be worn out.

Going into this, we’d argue that Tai and Jason are in the most danger of going home … but who knows? We’ve said for the past day or two that the best thing Jason could do is resolve his differences with Tai, and then get him and the remaining Beauty tribe members to team up against the Brians and Cydney. This may be their only way to ensure any of them have a shot at winning.
