‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Show boss on Barry, Iris’ journey

FlashThe second season of “The Flash” has definitely been patient when it comes to getting together its title character Barry Allen with Iris West, but the more that we hear, the more we are starting to feel like this is something that could happen. We just hope that it does take place before we make it to the end of the season.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg is of course coy on the subject of if this is a move that will take place soon; yet, he also explained that there were specific reasons why the show didn’t have something happen between the two of them on Earth-1 so far:

“We couldn’t just slam them together … It would’ve been a disservice to Eddie’s character and everything that happened between them. We left it on this simmer all season long, and now she should be ready to move on, but she’s starting to feel like the universe is telling her otherwise.”

The universe is going to be telling Iris probably quite a few things moving forward, but our feeling on the matter is ultimately this: If there is a chance to pair the two up romantically, we do hope that it happens. However, don’t do it unless it is something organic, since otherwise you run the risk of forcing a storyline when there really is not any need to do so. We’d like to see the show more than anything exercise some patience so that the moment for WestAllen fans can be as excellent as it can possibly be.
