‘The Originals’ season 3 spoilers: First look at penultimate story

Given the journey that we’ve been on so far on “The Originals” through season 3, it only makes some sense that things would be getting so much worse as we start to near the end of the run. The synopsis below is for “Give ‘Em Hell Kid,” which is the title for the penultimate episode of the season airing on Friday, May 13. Based on this, we’re going to see chaos start to reign supreme courtesy of a new / potentially unknown force, and it could put almost everyone in danger:

“After receiving new visions of the looming prophecy, Freya (Riley Voelkel) uncovers that her family is on a collision course with a dangerous new enemy. Meanwhile, with the help of Detective Kinney (guest star Jason Dohring), Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) and Kol (guest star Nathaniel Buzolic) travel to the ancestral world to put a stop to the witches and take back their city once and for all. Elsewhere, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) confront Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) after a heartbreaking plan gone wrong has sent him spiraling.”

How in the world is this season going to end? It’s a worthy question, and unfortunately one we don’t have much in the way of an answer for it. The only sort of consolation that we can offer you at the moment is that the show has already been renewed for a fourth season, so it’s not particularly likely that we’re going to see some sort of ending in here where everyone dies or the show is not even close to what we knew beforehand.
