‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Expect huge Barry – Hunter showdown in finale

Zoom -

We’ve started to learn more about Hunter Zolomon on “The Flash,” whether it be who he is to what he wants to even what he’s capable of. What we’re still waiting to learn at present is what exactly is the right way to stop him. It felt briefly as though the team had figured this out on this past episode of the show, but it actually turned out that they were thwarted once more. For the time being, Zoom has taken Barry’s speed, and now our hero seems largely powerless to whatever comes next.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Teddy Sears makes it clear that while Barry may have many allies on the show who are often willing to help him, the battle between The Flash and Zoom is going to be more of a head-to-head showdown:

“The final showdown is mano-a-mano, Barry vs. Hunter … Because we haven’t shot it yet, I don’t even have a picture, but what’s on the page, it proves to be epic in the truest sense of the word. It should be very fun and very satisfying for the viewers.”

We always do like it when we deconstruct things and we’re left with a singular showdown in the finale, and that is precisely what we have here. We imagine that it is going to make for a heck of a fun episode, and we hope that it sets the stage for a great third season. One of the biggest mysteries remaining is why Zoom needed Barry’s speed so badly other than as a product of his ego; hopefully this is something that is also satisfying.
