‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: Can Oliver, Felicity defeat Darhk with magic?

If you can’t beat him, join him … right? That could be at least one strategy to what Oliver and Felicity are looking for on “Arrow” later this season in their efforts to stop Damien Darhk. We’ve already seen more or less what happens when they try to take magic away from him; they succeeded for a time, but simultaneously their actions led to his minions finding a way to get it right back to him. If they try something similar, who is to say that it will produce a different result?

With this in mind, one of the interesting storylines of the May 4 episode “Genesis,” as per the official synopsis below courtesy of The CW, is that we are going to see Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards’ characters look more towards magic to figure out a way to stop him. This synopsis also details that Diggle still could be suffering from guilt over his decisions when it comes to Andy, which in turn led to the death of Laurel Lance:

“As Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) look for a magical solution to defeat Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough), a vengeance-driven Diggle (David Ramsey) gets a lead on Andy’s (guest star Eugene Byrd) whereabouts and heads off to confront his brother. Meanwhile, Alex (guest star Parker Young) takes Thea (Willa Holland) on a vacation that quickly turns into a nightmare.”

Poor Thea. Even when it seems like she gets a break from all the chaos of Star City, chaos apparently still finds a way to find her. Maybe this is the point that Alex decides that he really does not want to be mixed up in this anymore…
