‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Katie Cassidy bringing Earth-2 Laurel in penultimate episode

Just in case you were wondering what Laurel Lance’s Earth-2 doppelganger has been up to, great news: You’re going to get an update on that a little bit later this season on “The Flash.”

While at a press screening for Wednesday night’s new “Arrow” episode, executive producer Marc Guggenheim made it clear (per TVLine) that Katie Cassidy was going to be appearing on the sister show on The CW in the role of … Black Siren! Yep, she is getting another alter-ego to take on straight from the DC Comics world, which we imagine should be rather fun to play. As for how Black Siren is introduced, that is something we’re rather interested in figuring out.

Ultimately, we’re stoked about this mostly because the identity of many “Arrow” characters on Earth-2 is still a mystery, and introducing some of these now helps to ensure that there is still some mystery over within that world. Also, we’re never going to be altogether upset about an opportunity to get more of Cassidy, who we think has become one a really great character on “Arrow” over the past two years in particular. She hasn’t always been given a whole lot to do, but we continue to root for her to discover new sides to herself and find success in what she does.

As for “The Flash” itself, it’s on a little bit of a hiatus at the moment, but you can anticipate it back on the air starting on Tuesday, April 19 on The CW. Be on the lookout for some further scoop!
